09/08/2022 12:48 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 9 (Bernama) -- Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) is once again offering the ‘Sinaran Merdeka' incentive to encourage its commercial customers to brighten up their premises and surrounding areas with decorative lighting in conjunction with the National Month celebration.

TNB, in a statement issued today, said the incentive is for a two-month period of electricity usage, from Aug 1 to Sept 30.

“The Sinaran Merdeka incentive is in the form of a lower tariff rate of 20.8 sen/kWh for any amount of increase in electricity consumption, exceeding the average usage in three months taken from May, June, and July this year,” read the statement.

It also said that the applications for the incentives are open until Sept 15.

Customers who have received electricity supply before Aug 1, 2021, and have received at least one actual bill either in May, June or July this year, are qualified to apply for the incentive.

“This special incentive will be reflected as ‘Carnival Discount” on the October bill,” it said.

It added that customers can apply online through the myTNB portal (www.mytnb.com.my) or at the nearest Kedai Tenaga.

“For more information about the Sinaran Merdeka incentive, customers can contact TNB CareLine at 1-300-88-5454 or visit www.tnb.com.my or email: tnbcareline@tnb.com.my," it said.
