KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 4 (Bernama) -- Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) will make an ostentatious comeback physically this year to celebrate its 10th edition and will be featuring more than 40 local designers' ready-to-wear collections on the runway from Aug 17 to 22.
KLFW founder Andrew Tan said the fashion week, to be held at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, aims to continue identifying solutions and consider ways to assist the Malaysian fashion industry in adapting, evolving and continuously enhancing productivity, innovation and creativity.
He said since its inception in 2013, KLFW has provided platforms for Malaysian designers and the local fashion industry to unite, celebrate and honour each homegrown designer's collection.
“When I started KLFW in 2013, I knew it would be a tremendous risk and a huge undertaking.
“I am proud to say that KLFW had achieved all parameters that we had set for ourselves and with 2022 being the 10th year - it’s the closing of an amazing fashion chapter,” he said at the event media launch today.
Tan said among the designers expected to join them were Innai Red, Farah Khan, Fiziwoo, Ezuwan Ismail, Rizman Ruzaini as well as lists of rising designers.
In 2020, KLFW had taken its fashion show online, while last year, it organised both digital and physical shows with a limited crowd due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
