FIREFLY OFFERS KIDS TO FLY FOR FREE FROM PENANG

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 2 (Bernama) -- Firefly today launched a free flight campaign dedicated to children aged two to twelve years, for immediate booking until Aug 14, 2022 for the travel period between Aug 15 and Oct 31, 2022.

Firefly chief executive officer Philip See said the offer is valid for all services from Penang to Langkawi, Johor Bharu, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu and Phuket, Thailand and vice versa, using Boeing 737-800 jets.

He said the airline hopes it will bring joy to families with children, particularly during school holidays and long weekends.

"With the school holidays coming soon, we recommend customers to book quickly and enjoy the special offer travelling to their favourite destinations with their loved ones,” he said.

CHUAH CONFERRED IEM DISTINGUISHED HONORARY FELLOW, BIM LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 2 (Bernama) -- Prof Emeritus Tan Sri Dr Chuah Hean Teik has been conferred the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) Distinguished Honorary Fellow as well as the Balai Ikhtisas Malaysia (BIM) Lifetime Achievement Award.

According to a statement by Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), the award is conferred to very prominent engineers or world-renowned figures who have rendered very substantial and outstanding services to the engineering profession, the institution and the nation.

Meanwhile, the BIM Lifetime Achievement Award was mooted by the BIM as a form of recognition by BIM to members of the BIM who have, in their lifetime, made invaluable and outstanding contributions in their professions.

CVSKL LAUNCHES ITS FOUNDATION TO IMPROVE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED PATIENTS

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 2 (Bernama) -- Cardiac Vascular Sentral Kuala Lumpur (CVSKL) Hospital has launched the CVSKL Foundation to improve the healthcare system for Malaysian underprivileged patients, especially for those seeking complex medical care.

CVSKL Foundation is a charitable, non-profit organisation founded by the team of doctors at CVSKL and is governed by a Board of Trustees, who are industry leaders in various sectors.

The foundation’s objectives include supporting medical advancement and research initiatives, increasing awareness on cardiac and vascular diseases and to provide financial support for the low-income group through management of funds received and raised.

In 2021 alone, CVSKL’s corporate social responsibility efforts totalled RM4.15 million, which benefitted 545 patients.
