PUTRAJAYA, July 27 (Bernama) -- A 38-member brass band from Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Putrajaya Presint 11 (1) will perform patriotic songs in front of Menara Tulus to whip up the spirit of patriotism of Keluarga Malaysia during the 'Berjalan Teguh Bersama' programme on Saturday (July 30).
SK Putrajaya Presint 11 (1) teacher Muhammad Akmal Mohd Yusuf said the school brass band will feature patriotic songs like ‘Inilah Barisan Kita’ and ‘Jalur Gemilang’ that will surely ignite the Keluarga Malaysia spirit of patriotism.
"These patriotic songs certainly evoke the spirit of patriotism as they are well-known for their deep meaning. What’s more interesting is that these songs will be performed by primary school students,” he told Bernama.
The performance by the 38-member brass band, comprising 20 boys and 18 girls from Standard Four to Standard Six, will take place in front of Menara Tulus, which will be among the areas participants of the 'Berjalan Teguh Bersama' programme will walk past.
“This is a challenge for the school band because this is the first time we are performing at such a big event... it is an honour for us.
“We will do our best. We train every evening so that we can give our best performances to the spectators,” said Muhammad Akmal, who is also the school brass band coordinator.
Meanwhile, SK Putrajaya Presint 11 (1) headmistress Rohana Abdul Manaf said the pupils who are in the brass band were very excited when they learned that they would be performing at a programme held in conjunction with the launch of the 2022 National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang campaign.
Some 10,000 participants, including the country’s leaders, are expected to join the “Berjalan Teguh Bersama” programme that carries the message of the spirit of unity and togetherness of Malaysians as Keluarga Malaysia.
“I hope they can give the best performance and entertain the audience as well as the 'Berjalan Teguh Bersama’ participants,” she added.
