KOTA BHARU, July 24 (Bernama) -- The presence of various mascots from popular local animated television series at the K-KOMM Digital Carnival in conjunction with the Kelantan Keluarga Malaysia Aspirations (AKM) Tour brings joy to the visitors, especially children.
The mascots of Ejen Ali, Omar and Hana, Didi and Friends, and Mechamato, especially brought by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), not only excite the children who want to pose for pictures with their favourite animated character, but also the parents.
Tuan Shariman Tuan Yaakob, 27, said he has been excited to bring his children to get up close and personal with their favourite animated characters, since yesterday.
“When I found out yesterday that these mascots will be here today, and that we can take pictures with them, I know my children will be thrilled and I’m glad we came here today and they get to meet with Didi and Friends,” said the father of three.
Meanwhile, Noor Baizura Kuswadinata, 28, also shared the same sentiment after seeing her four-year-old son’s excitement about meeting with his favourite Ejen Ali.
“I’m happy that he is happy. He gets to meet and pose for pictures with Ejen Ali, Omar and Hana. He really loves watching these animated series,” she said.
MDEC Head of Digitalisation and Community, Digital Content Development Siow Aik Wee said the presence of the mascots had really received an overwhelming response over the three-day carnival.
“The ‘big screen’ activity was specially brought here to attract and bring joy to the visitors, especially the children, as MDEC is also giving away various interesting prizes to those participating in its quizzes,” he said.
For the first time in the AKM Tour, the MDEC booth in the Kelantan edition also saw the sale of Ejen Ali official merchandise, such as food containers, water bottles, school bags and stationeries.
“Most of the merchandise is new arrivals and brought from Kuala Lumpur.
“Looking at the reactions of the children, they are indeed happy and excited to own the merchandise of these popular local animated characters. The parents are happy too as MDEC is offering the merchandise at reasonable prices,” he said.
The three-day Kelantan AKM Tour with the theme of ‘Malaysian Family is Digital Family’, which offers various activities such as RIUHxJAKM, Khemah Citarasa Keluarga Malaysia and sales by small-and medium-scale entrepreneurs, will end tonight.
