KEMAS LAUNCHES ANTI-CORRUPTION ORGANISATIONAL PLAN 2022-2026
PUTRAJAYA -- The Community Development Department (Kemas) today launched its Organisational Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP) 2022-2026 to strengthen governance, integrity and anti-corruption among its staff.
In a statement, Kemas said the plan listed five key result areas namely childhood education, skills education, community development, governance and procurement.
Five strategies have been identified involving six objectives with 25 initiatives to be implemented by Kemas staff within the five-year period to make the plan a success, the department said.
“The implementation of all initiatives will be monitored and evaluated consistently taking into account feedback, guidance and advice from various parties so that the efforts remain relevant and effective,” said Kemas.

SABAH CIDB UPSET OVER REPETITIVE MISTAKES BY CONTRACTORS
SANDAKAN -- The Sabah Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) has expressed its disappointment to find repetitive mistakes made by contractors in the state, which proved that no efforts were taken to make improvements.
Its director Rosmen Awang Hassan said between January and June this year alone, the CIDB had issued 169 notices to contractors in the state for various offences of which 37 were repeated offences including those involving contractor registration, accreditation and building materials.
“As such, CIDB calls on contractors to always abide by the rules or face legal action of compound fines,” he told reporters after participating in an integrated enforcement operation at a construction site here today.
The operation which involved various departments and agencies in Sandakan, among others, aims to strengthen cooperation between enforcement agencies in enforcing the rules and compliance of the law related to the Malaysian construction industry, especially the CIDB Act 1994 or Act 520.

17 FOOD PREMISES IN KELANTAN ORDERED TO CLOSE - EXCO
KOTA BHARU -- Seventeen out of 4,097 food premises in Kelantan have been ordered to close thus far due to failure to comply with food hygiene regulations, especially in terms of preparation and storage.
State Local Government, Housing and Health Committee chairman Dr Izani Husin said over the past three years, a total of 1,079 cases of food poisoning had been recorded, among them involving canteens and kitchens of school hostels and institutions of higher learning.
“The state government is serious about food poisoning cases and we fully support the implementation of the Food Hygiene Regulations 2009 with the hope of raising the awareness of food operators and handlers,” he said after officiating the state-level World Food Safety Day celebration, here today.

POLICE LOOKING FOR FAMILY MEMBERS OR NEXT-OF-KIN OF SENIOR CITIZEN WOMAN
GEORGE TOWN -- Police are searching for family members or next-of-kin of an elderly woman who was found abandoned in the parking lot of a hotel on Victoria Street here.
The Northeast District Police in a statement on Facebook today said the woman is a Malay aged between 65 and 70.
“When asked, she failed to provide any information about herself and no identification documents were found with her,” according to the statement.
Members of the public with a missing relative are required to contact the Northeast District Police Headquarters at 04-2181822 or the Lebuh Pantai Police station at 04-2641628.

RM4.1 MILLION ALLOCATED FOR AGRICULTURAL INPUT ASSISTANCE IN MELAKA
JASIN -- The Melaka government through the Agriculture Department has allocated RM4.1 million this year to provide agricultural input assistance to farmers throughout Melaka.
State Rural Development, Agriculture and Agro-Based Exco Datuk Abdul Razak Abdul Rahman said the assistance was meant to be channelled to 383 agricultural entrepreneurs registered with the department who cultivate fruits and vegetables.
“The assistance comprises tools and equipment such as small machinery and other agricultural inputs such as fertilisers and fungicides are given to encourage the farmers to increase their production that can benefit the people in the state,” he told reporters here today.
