TERENGGANU TO INTENSIFY EFFORTS TO GET MORE PwD REGISTERED
KUALA TERENGGANU -- The state government, through the Terengganu Social Welfare Department, will intensify the registration of persons with disabilities (PwD) so that the proper assistance can be channelled to them.
State Welfare, Women and Family Development and National Unity Committee chairman Hanafiah Mat said there are 30,324 registered PwDs in Terengganu.
“The effort to register PwD shows the government's concern so that the aid and special facilities for them can be fully enjoyed,” he told reporters after a dialogue session with Terengganu PwDs here today.
Hanafiah also hoped that the guardians and families of those who have not yet registered to immediately do so at the nearest District Social Welfare Office.

“During the raid, a suspicious-looking tanker truck covered in canvas transferred subsidised diesel from the vehicle’s cargo section by using a hose into a square tank as a storage place.
“Further checks, officers found two modified tanks on the lorry, while five tanks filled with diesel at the store. Initial checks found that the premises did not have a license or special permit to handle the controlled goods,” he said in a statement today.
