Over 12,000 job opportunities to be offered at Terengganu AKM Tour

KUALA TERENGGANU, June 1 (Bernama) --  More than 12,000 job opportunities are set to be offered to job seekers at the JaminKerja Career Carnival in conjunction with the Keluarga Malaysia Aspirations (AKM) Tour programme held at the Terengganu State Sports Complex from June 2 to 4.

Terengganu Social Security Organisation (Socso) director Farihah Che Husin said some 90 companies and employers from various sectors including banking, agricultural, technical, and manufacturing, will participate in the carnival.

“The three-day carnival is expected to benefit job seekers in accordance with their qualifications and skills.

“Interested job seekers are required to register via the link http://myfuturejobs.gov.my/careerfair,” she told Bernama today.

She also urged those who are interested to attend interview sessions at the carnival to dress professionally and bring relevant documents.

Farihah said a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Targeted Career Matching session in the energy sector will also be organised for final year students at training centres in Terengganu.

According to her, through the cooperation with the training centres, the students who managed to get job matches will undergo interviews at the carnival, and they will be absorbed after completing their studies in May, June, and July. 

“We will also set up an information counter at the Human Resources Ministry booth, to explain to the visitors the benefits or privileges that will be enjoyed by those who contribute to various Socso protection schemes such as the Self-Employment Social Security Scheme,” she said.

The AKM Tour is a continuation of the 100 Days of Malaysian Family Aspirations which was held at 14 locations throughout the country with programmes in the form of services to the people.

The objective of the programme is to ensure that people at all levels can understand and appreciate the concept of AKM more clearly, which emphasises inclusivity, common ground and contentment.
