KUALA LUMPUR, May 31 (Bernama) -- After Johor, Sabah is set to be the second location for the ‘Riuh Keluarga Malaysia’ programme next month, with a total of 10,000 visitors expected.
Communications and Multimedia Ministry (K-KOMM) deputy secretary-general (strategic communications and creative industry) Mastura Ahmad Mustafa said the programme known as ‘Riuh Bah! Bersama Hotlink’ will be held at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), Kota Kinabalu, from June 3 to 5.
She added that the main objective of the programme was to revitalise the creative industry which had been badly hit by the COVID-19 pandemic for two years, and to serve as a platform for those in the industry to earn some income.
“Among the activities planned are art shows, creative workshops, cultural performances, food and drinks sales, and mini-concerts,” she said while appearing as a guest on Bernama TV’s ‘Malaysia Petang Ini’ programme today.
Mastura said local artistes such as Datuk Jamal Abdillah, DJ Dave, Estrange, Mafidz, Kicau Bilau, Alena Murang, Bamboo Woods Orchestra, Linda Nanunwit, Velvet Aduk, Atmosfera, Syamel, and Wani Kayrie were expected to enliven the programme.
The programme aimed at promoting and strengthening the local creative industry was approved by the Dewan Rakyat last year with an allocation of RM20 million under Budget 2022.
