IPOH, May 26 (Bernama) -- The number of flood victims in Perak dropped to 113 people from 39 families this afternoon compared to 202 victims from 60 families this morning.
A spokesman of the Perak Disaster Management Committee Secretariat said in Muallim district, 71 people were still housed at the relief centre (PPS) at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) Trolak Pekan and 42 people at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kuala Slim.
"Several other PPS have been closed as the flood victims were allowed to return home after flood waters subsided,” he said in a statement.
He said in Batang Padang district, the PPS at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina Choong Hua 1, Bidor was closed and 17 senior citizens taking shelter there were allowed to return to their care homes.
The flooded areas in Langkap in Hilir Perak district has also returned to normal and the PPS at Dewan Majlis Perbandaran Teluk Intan Langkap was closed this afternoon.
