KANGAR, March 26 (Bernama) -- Anyone wishing to buy and sell gold at a reasonable price can visit the mobile service of the Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YaPIEM) in conjunction with the Perlis Keluarga Malaysia Aspirations (AKM) tour programme at the Tuanku Syed Putra Sports Complex.
Kedah YaPIEM mobile access manager Ibrahim Ismail said the public could buy gold at a reasonable price without extra charges at RM260 per gramme, which is RM20 lower than other places.
"As the price of gold is now rising, people can sell their old jewellery at a higher price, with a depreciation rate of 17 per cent which is lower than elsewhere," he told Bernama today.
He said apart from that, YaPIEM also provides testing services and gold cleaning for free.
He said YaPIEM is targeting to receive 500 visitors during the three-day event, which started yesterday.
