KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 23 -- After Perlis, the Golden Ride convoy which is a programme to promote the Kuala Lumpur City Golden Jubilee will travel to the east coast soon, says Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim.
He said the trip to Perlis involved 50 high-powered motorcycles which started in Dataran Merdeka on Friday and ended at the Kuala Lumpur Tower today.
“The next location for the Golden Ride convoy was supposed to be Johor but because of the state polls, the programme had to be moved to the East Coast states of Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang,” he said to reporters after welcoming the convoy today.
During the Golden Ride convoy led by Deputy Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative was also incorporated to help the asnaf (tithe recipients) and B40 groups.
Meanwhile, Shahidan said he hoped that the Kuala Lumpur City Golden Jubilee next month will be celebrated by all and not just city folks due to its long history and achievement in the last fifty years.
