KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 21 -- The Social Security Organisation (Socso) and Majoriti, a new Malay-language portal have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote and disseminate Socso's various social security protection initiatives to the public.
Socso’s chief executive Datuk Seri Dr Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed said this would help attract those eligible to apply for the initiatives offered and more importantly raise awareness on the importance of social safety nets.
He said the agency has once again been entrusted by the government to implement several important initiatives under the 2022 Budget.
"In an effort to ensure that the government’s assistance can be channeled to all target groups, we are adapting to technology and opting for digital approach to offer the best services to Malaysians nationwide," he said in his speech at the MoU signing ceremony here, yesterday.
Mohammed Azman said the PRIHATIN Perkeso application launched on Nov 26, 2021, is equipped with the latest technology that offers facilities for Socso contributors to have immediate access to latest information on their contributions and is also one of the platforms to apply for the Budget 2022 initiatives implemented by Socso.
Meanwhile, Socso’s chief communications officer Izad Raya said the cooperation between Socso and Majoriti through the PRIHATIN Perkeso application was an interesting approach and an effective way to publicise the government initiatives implemented by Socso.
Through the collaboration with Majoriti too, users of the application are also offered low rates for the Majoriti portal subscription in addition to discounts and promotions on the sale of lifestyle items and other attractive gifts.
Under Budget 2022, Socso has been entrusted to protect employers and workers in Malaysia through initiatives such as the Targeted Wage Subsidy Programme, Jamin Kerja Keluarga Malaysia - Employment Incentive, SPS Service and SIP Gig programmes as recovery efforts and in building reslience after the National Recovery phase.
