KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 31 -- As 2021 draws to a close, Malaysians of all races have been offering prayers, messages of hope and well wishes, alongside their customary New Year greetings in signs of solidarity and sympathy to those affected by the recent floods.
Cabinet ministers have also posted their New Year greetings to all Malaysians on social media, including Senior International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, who tweeted a reminder to all to pray to Allah SWT for safety from disasters and tribulations.
He also sought the support of the public in praying for the country’s economic prosperity and the continued wellbeing of its citizens.
Meanwhile, Senior Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof posted his greetings on Facebook, inviting all to pray in accordance to their religions, beliefs and practices.
“In conjunction with the new year let us also strive to achieve more than the previous year, to provide the best service to family, society and country.
“Let us come together to strengthen the unity and harmony among races, and build our beloved Malaysia,” he said.
Longest-serving former prime minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali also shared their New Year greetings with all Malaysians.
