JOHOR BAHRU, Nov 29 -- A total of 350 travellers from Singapore have arrived at the Larkin Sentral Bus Terminal here as at noon today via the land Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL-Land).
State Works, Transportation and Infrastructure Committee chairman Mohd Solihan Badri said the state government had made thorough preparation according to the stipulated standard operating procedures to receive travellers from the republic.
On the detection of one COVID-19 case at the Malaysian entry point on the first day of the VTL-Land, Mohd Solihan said the relevant parties had taken swift action to manage the situation.
“The man tested negative (for COVID-19) in Singapore but was confirmed positive here, which shows the effectiveness of our system,” he told reporters after visiting the bus terminal.
He added that the man had been taken to undergo the RT-PCR test before being quarantined at a quarantine centre in the city.
