LANGKAWI, Nov 29 -- The success of local small and medium entreprises (SME) to generate high sales must be one of the aspects highlighted in the Buy Malaysian Goods Campaign (KBBM).
MC Gemilang (Natural Water) Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Simon Wang said it was one of the measures to inspire SMEs to emulate the same approaches to expand their businesses.
“KBBM is a campaign which is very helpful to SME to introduce and promote their products and we ourselves also participate in many sale programmes organised in conjunction with the campaign.
“I see several new SMEs requiring aid and guidance. So, they should participate in sale campaigns or programmes and look at the achievements of other SMEs to emulate,” he told Bernama here recently.
He said that many products produced by SMEs had potentials to penetrate bigger markets but without knowledge and encouragement they might not be aware of the matter and, subsequently, the businesses did not grow.
Commenting on his product, Wang said his company which was operating in Kampung Dusun, here, is the producer of LWI BLUE natural mineral water and the water has been extracted from a depth of 130 metres under Gunung Raya, Langkawi.
“The water contains various minerals which can maintain hydration and benefit the body. We receive very encouraging demand and extract seven million litres of water every month,” he said.
In addition, he said the product was also recognised as the first GEOfood in Asia because it is produced in the Langkawi UNESCO Global Geopark area and has been selected for display at the 2020 Dubai Expo.
The national level 2021 KBBM was launched by KPDNHEP deputy minister Datuk Rosol Wahid at Dataran Chenang, here, recently, which was a branding platform to boost consumer confidence in local products.
