Fantasia Aquapark in Jitra to reopen on Dec 2

JITRA, Nov 27 -- The Fantasia Aquapark here, one of Kedah's leading attractions, will reopen on Dec 2 after being closed for several months due to the COVID-19 pandemic and implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO).

The water theme park is now under a new management, SAB Global (M) Sdn Bhd, a Butterworth-based company in Penang that has invested RM1.3 million to improve facilities for the convenience of visitors.

SAB Global managing director Nar Azaman Ibrahim said the improvements made included on facilities that would be required to be in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP) set by the Health Ministry and the National Security Council (MKN) to prevent any outbreak of COVID-19 among visitors.

"Thorough preparations have been made primarily from the hygiene and safety aspects in order to comply with the stipulated SOP. Visitors will have their temperatures checked and will need to wear face masks while in the theme park, except when engaging in water activities.

"Although the theme park can hold a capacity of 500 visitors at any one time, we will only allow 50% of this number in to comply with the SOP on physical distancing," he told reporters, here, today.

Nar Azaman said in conjunction with the theme park's reopening, the management is offering promotional entry passes at RM18 per person for all categories of visitors, except for senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PwD) who will be charged RM12 per entry. There will be no entry fees for children below the age of two.

He said the 4.5-acre (1.82 hectare) theme park features five existing attractions namely "Children Splash Pad", "Twin Water Slide'', ''Lazy River'', ''Water Cave'', and a main pool,  in addition to new attractions, such as the ''Rumah Gergasi Musang King'' and a reflexology centre run by the PwD.

He also said all theme park employees have been fully vaccinated and underwent first aid training to render assistance to visitors should the need arise.

''We expect 15,000 visitors at the theme park every month and believe the public is anxiously waiting to visit the place," he added.
