MACMA, BeDaie to offer digital Islamic studies to 3,000 converts nationwide

KOTA BHARU, Oct 19 -- The Malaysian Chinese Muslim Association (MACMA) has partnered with a digital madrasah (e-pondok) platform BeDaie to offer digital Islamic studies to about 3,000 converts nationwide.

Its vice-president, Dr Johari Yap said through the collaboration, association members could attend sirah (prophetic biography), ibadah (worship), fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and Al-Quran classes online.

"BeDaie has hundreds of religious teachers and scholars from various countries. This teaching staff will help our members expand their knowledge of Islam.

"It has a very positive impact on the development and enhancement of religious knowledge to our members," he said.

Johari said this to reporters after signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with BeDaie at the MACMA office, here, today.

Johari represented MACMA while BeDaie was represented by its founder Amar Mirza Ab Kadir Jailani.

Meanwhile, Amar Mirza said BeDaie welcomes donations from any party to sponsor about 3,000 converts who are expected to use the services provided by the platform.

He said the sponsorship would help converts continue their studies on the BeDaie platform until they complete their studies estimated to take one or two years.

"The cost for each convert is RM250, or RM10.40 per month, where we will give access to the converts for two years to finish studying the books in the package," he added.
