PUTRAJAYA, Oct 15 -- The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) today agreed to establish an information and expertise sharing portal by placing PDRM officers in MCMC.
The matter was finalised in the PDRM-MCMC Main Committee meeting today chaired jointly by Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani and MCMC chairman Dr Fadhlullah Suhaimi Abdul Malek to coordinate enforcement more effectively.
A joint statement issued after the meeting today, said the meeting focused on boosting aspects of investigation, operation, crime prevention and administration
The joint statement stated that PDRM and MCMC would continue to enhance forging cooperation in crime eradication as well as protecting the people to ensure the digital ecosystem is safe for users.
"The strengthening of cooperation is a full commitment of both agencies in the effort to eradicate crimes and protect internet users in the country including on issues relating to public order on social media,” said the joint statement.
