He said the decision was made following the improvement in the percentage of fully vaccinated adults in the state, apart from the sufficient vaccine supply.

“Based on the information we have obtained, only a minority of the (adult population in Kelantan) have not been vaccinated yet, so the vaccines for the teenagers, Insya Allah, we will begin next week.

“We get the data of the youths from the state education department, as it is more complete and accurate,” he told reporters after handing over 14 units of oxygen concentrators donated by a law firm at the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital here today.

Based on the vaksincovid.gov.my website, a total of 939,091 or 76 per cent of the adult population in Kelantan have received their first dose while 657,520 or 53.2 per cent are fully vaccinated as of yesterday.

MATFA SUGGESTS GOV’T ABOLISH ENTERTAINMENT TAX

KUALA LUMPUR --  The Malaysian Association of Amusement Theme Park and Family Attractions (MATFA)  has proposed to the government to provide an exemption or abolish the 25 per cent of entertainment tax in the upcoming Budget 2022 in an effort to reduce the impact on the economy due to the spread of COVID-19.

Its president, Tan Sri Richard Koh, said the tax under the Entertainment Duty Act 1953 (Act 103) was no longer relevant to the operation of all the theme parks in the country.

“The 25 per cent rate is very high, whereby it affects the revenue of theme park operators, and also raises the entrance ticket price for visitors,” he said in a statement today.

MATFA also welcomed the move by the Federal government and Pakatan Harapan leaders to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Political Stability and Transformation, paving the way for a new political landscape based on bipartisan cooperation.
