KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 3 -- The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) today launched a new product known as Simpan SSPN Plus that offers various benefits for customers.
Its chief executive officer, Ahmad Dasuki Abdul Majid said Simpan SSPN Plus was an improved version of Skim Simpanan Pendidikan Nasional i-Plus (SSPN-i Plus) product offering various benefits.
He said through Simpan SSPN Plus, depositors will be offered more takaful options, namely Hong Leong MSIG Takaful Berhad, Great Eastern Takaful Berhad and Takaful Ikhlas Family Berhad compared to just one takaful company previously.
In addition, he said the new product offered six affordable packages with various privileges and benefits to depositors such as takaful coverage of up to RM1.2 million, terminal illness (coverage) up to RM200,000, repatriation benefits up to RM10,000, outpatient treatment due to accidents up to RM3,000, as well as coverage up to the age of 69.
“This launch is also timely and in line with the first thrust of PTPTN’s Strategic Plan to make the SSPN a major education savings product in Malaysia,” he said when officiating at the virtual launch of the new product today.
Ahmad Dasuki also said the launch of the product was the best platform for the community to continue saving for higher education.
In addition, Simpan SSPN Plus still retains the existing privileges in the previous SSPN-i Plus package, such as competitive dividends, tax assessment relief up to RM8,000, syariah-compliant savings and guaranteed by the government.
Meanwhile, the PTPTN also launched the WOW! Simpan SSPN Plus 2021 draw from Sept 1 to Dec 31 with a gold bar worth RM150,000 as the main prize.
Other attractive prizes are a Perodua Bezza 1.3AV to two winners, a state-of-the-art kitchen appliance (Thermomix) to three winners, and a consolation prize in the form of cash worth RM221 to 215 winners.
