PUTRAJAYA, April 19 -- The media must become a strategic partner to the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (MPIC) to ensure every policy implemented can be disseminated to the people, its Minister Datuk Dr Khairuddin Aman Razali said.
‘’The relations between the media practitioners and the ministry is like a bridge to enable information to be disseminated to the people. The duty of the media to explain to the people is important,’’ he said at MPIC breaking-of-fast event with the media here, today.
For the record, 150 news about MPIC were reported by the media last month.
Khairuddin, who is Kuala Nerus Member of Parliament, said the role of a strategic partner is also to fend off false news which was in the form of attacks.
For example, he said MPIC was carrying out a Palm Oil Is God’s Gift Campaign aimed at upholding the palm oil industry and dealing with the anti-palm oil campaign launched by the European Union.
