KUALA LUMPUR, April 8 -- The Embassy of Saudi Arabia, via its Religious Attache office, distributed about 570 boxes of dates to Muslim NGOs and media practitioners in Malaysia.
The gift programme of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques is carried out in conjunction with the month of Ramadan.
Saudi ambassador to Malaysia Datuk Dr Mahmoud Hussien Saeed Qattan said the annual programme would benefit about 24 Islamic countries, including Malaysia.
The donation is a symbol of continuous communication between the Saudi Arabian government and Muslim countries, he said at the distribution ceremony here today.
Also present was Bernama editor-in-chief Abdul Rahman Ahmad.
