Weak earthquake detected in Sulawesi Sea

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 29 -- A weak earthquake, measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale, was detected in Sulawesi Sea at 1.42 am today.

The Malaysian Meteorology Department (MetMalaysia), in  a statement, said the tremor could possibly be felt in Tawau, Sabah. 

The epicentre of the quake was 197 kilometre south of Semporna and at a depth of 141 kilometres.
