Yesterday, the Sarawak government decided to implement the CMCO throughout the state for 14 days beginning tomorrow till Jan 31.

SDMC chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said the decision was made following the rise in COVID-19 positive cases in the state in the past few days.

He said the CMCO involved all divisions in Sarawak, except for Sibu, which has been placed under the Movement Control Order (MCO) from today until Jan 29.

Meanwhile, Sarawak today recorded 62 COVID-19 positive cases, with Sibu reporting 43 cases, Miri (six), Kuching (three), Julau, Meradong and Beluru two cases each while Dalat, Bintulu, Kapit and Belaga had one case each.

This takes the cumulative total of COVID-19 cases in Sarawak to 2,111 cases.
