SHAH ALAM, Dec 31 -- The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin have wished all Malaysians, and especially those in the state, a Happy New Year.
In the post on the @selangorroyalofficial’s Instagram page today, Sultan Sharafuddin said he hoped that 2021 would bring greater achievements and success for the people in all aspects of their life.
"Hopefully, 2021 will be a better year for all the people of various races and religions in Malaysia," he said.
He also called on all leaders, regardless of their political affiliation, to bring together their energy and focus on efforts to ensure the well-being of the people.
"Do not be quarrelsome and selfish," he said.
The Sultan and Tengku Permaisuri also prayed for the COVID-19 pandemic to end soon, so that people could resume leading their normal lives.
