JOHOR BAHRU, Nov 28 -- Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba today paid a surprise visit to the Tangkak District Health Office and Tangkak Hospital to oversee the preparedness of the Health Ministry’s facilities to tackle various situations.
He said the preparedness of these facilities was crucial, especially with Tangkak having a COVID-19 cluster with 14 cases being treated at the Enche’ Besar Hajjah Kalsom Hospital in Kluang.
“So, it is important to oversee our health facilities’ preparedness, including the Tangkak Hospital and district health office, besides guiding and informing them on early prevention programmes.
“We don’t want any more new COVID-19 cases in Tangkak and, for that, it has to strengthen its surveillance and monitoring activities,” he told reporters.
A total of 1,315 new COVID-19 cases were reported today, with 46 in Johor, bringing the cumulative tally in the country to 63,176.
Earlier, during the two-hour visit, Dr Adham also took the opportunity to meet the frontliners at the hospital and health office.
