KUALA TERENGGANU, Nov 2 -- The father of the teenage girl who was found dead with her left arm severed and slash wounds on her body in Kampung Lubuk Batu, Telemong yesterday, hopes the offender will receive a fitting punishment.
Ismail Muda, 58, said the Form Six schoolgirl who was arrested today in connection with the murder of Siti Nur Surya, 19, was his daughter’s former schoolmate and was very close to her.
"She (the suspect) often comes to our house but since a few months ago, she rarely came," he told reporters when met at the Kampung Beladau Selat Muslim cemetery here tonight.
The victim's younger sister Nor Liyana Syuhada, 15, said the last time she saw Siti Nur Surya was yesterday morning before going to school and at that time her sister was still sleeping in their bedroom.
She said her late sister, who was a friendly and cheerful person, would be deeply missed by their family and friends.
Meanwhile, Siti Nur Surya was buried at the Kampung Beladau Selat Muslim cemetery 8.15 pm.
