KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 -- Poet and writer Salleh Ben Joned died of heart failure early this morning.
According to a statement issued by his family on Facebook, Salleh, 79, died at 1.21 am at the Universiti Malaya Medical Center (UMMC) here.
His remains were buried at the USJ 22 Muslim cemetery.
“Due to the Conditional Movement Control Order, only family members and close relatives are allowed for the funeral,” the statement read.
Among Salleh’s literary works was his collection of poems, ‘Sajak-Sajak Saleh’ written both in Malay and English.
He had also acted in the Malay film, ‘Bintang Malam’ in 1991.
