KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 25 -- A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 on the Richter scale hit Java, Indonesia, at 8.56 am today.
According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department in a statement today, the quake occurred at 112 kilometre south of Tasikmalaya, Indonesia, at a depth of 66 kilometre.
However, it posed no tsunami threat to Malaysia, it said.
