PHNOM PENH, Sept 16 -- The Malaysian Embassy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia hosted “Raikan Malaysia Dengan Filem” Night to celebrate Malaysia Day.
In collaboration with Malaysian movie distributor in Cambodia, Westec Media Ltd, the event screened “Sangkar”, starring Zul Ariffin and Remy Ishak that tells of two MMA fighters who are trying to make a name in the ring, at Legend Premium Cinema at Chipmong Noro Mall, Phnom Penh.
Malaysian ambassador to Cambodia, Eldeen Husaini Mohd Hashim and chief executive officer of Westec Media Ltd, Michael Chai were present at the screening.
About 80 of the Malaysian diaspora and embassy officials attended the screening yesterday.
Eldeen said the programme provided a platform for Malaysians residing and working in Cambodia, especially in Phnom Penh to celebrate Malaysia Day and foster unity and the spirit of patriotism.
“The screening could also nurture a closer and stronger bond between the embassy and Malaysians living abroad, besides lending support to the Malaysian movie and film distributor in Cambodia.
“The movie carries the message, ‘our unity is our strength’,” he told Bernama when contacted today.
