Legoland Malaysia dedicates five lego murals to frontliners

ISKANDAR PUTERI, Sept 11 (Bernama) -- Legoland Malaysia Resort today unveiled five special murals dedicated to the nation’s COVID-19 frontliners.

The life-size murals, constructed by the company’s staff and the Malaysian Lego Building community, depict faces of doctors, police and army personnel, media practitioners, cleaners and couriers including food delivery riders. 

Its divisional director, C.S. Lim said the murals took nine days to be completed using 15,000 blocks of lego.

“The lego murals were built after seeing the frontliners’ dedication in ensuring the safety of Malaysians. 

“Their services and sacrifices have enabled Legoland Malaysia to resume operation,” he said at the launching of the murals by Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Ir Hasni Mohammad at the theme park, here, today.

Also present were Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri and Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Adham Baba.

Lim said the company was also donating 3,000 access tickets to the theme park, to five government agencies, namely the police, Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia, Malaysian Armed Forces, the state’s Health Department and the Johor government.

He added that the frontliners were also eligible for 50 per cent discount on accommodation at Legoland Hotel.

Meanwhile, Nancy in her speech said resumption of the country’s 13 tourism sub-sectors was the result of the frontliners’ steadfastness and the people’s cooperation in curbing COVID-19.

“As such, I believe that emphasis on domestic tourism which began two months ago, can be boosted more aggressively by all parties, especially operators and the country’s tourism and culture activists,” she said.
