KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 -- The younger generation should always uphold the second principle of Rukun Negara namely Loyalty to King and Country to ensure the sovereignty of the nation is preserved.
According to Grand Chamberlain of Istana Negara Datuk Azuan Effendy Zairakithnaini, as the future leaders of our nation, the younger generation must also instil the spirit of love for the country and show respect towards the royal institution.
“The five principles of Rukun Negara have a soul and spirit that need to be understood and appreciated by the whole society, especially young people.
“We should know about the parliamentary democracy and constitutional monarchy system…the country will continue to accomplish many glorious achievements if we continue to defend it,” he said when appearing as a guest for Bernama TV's 'Darah Muda' programme tonight.
