KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 4 -- PLUS Malaysia Bhd (PLUS) has contributed around RM1 million to korban rituals organised by the B40 community living along the highway, especially.
“For Aidiladha this year, PLUS contributed 21 cows worth RM168,000 to mosques and surau located near the highway, including the East Coast Highway (LPT 2),” PLUS managing director, Datuk Azman Ismail, said in a statement today.
He said it has been a yearly PLUS practice since 10 years ago and a way of supporting community programmes every so often.
He said the highway concessionaire’s direct participation in community programmes is aimed at improving the quality of life for the B40 group, particularly.
“These programmes aren’t just in the form of funds, but also comprehensive assistance for safety, kampung road and infrastructure repairs, and more,” Azman said.
He said PLUS’ involvement in the community is in line with its core values which emphasise caring for surrounding communities.
