PASIR MAS, July 30 -- The Kelantan Darul Naim Media Club (Kemudi) has joined hands with residents of Kampung Dewan Beta here to cook 2,000 tubes of lemang in preparation for the Aidiladha celebration tomorrow.
Lemang is a type of traditional delicacy made from glutinous rice, coconut milk and cooked in bamboo stems.
Kemudi deputy resident Zabidi Ishar said media members and villagers gathered since dawn today to start the lemang making process which was conducted in a new normal by adhering to the stipulated standard operating procedures (SOP) to curb the spread of COVID-19.
“In adhering to the SOP, we only have 10 to 20 people at one particular time,” he said, adding that the lemangs will be distributed to Kemudi members and villagers.
Zabidi, who was met at the location, said the programme was made possible with contributions from individuals and companies, as well as from the club.
“Besides enlivening the Hari raya celebration, this programme is an initiative to bring the media people closer to village folks, who are our sources,” he added
