SEREMBAN, July 28 -- The Negeri Sembilan government has asked private landowners to maintain the trees planted in their areas, especially by the roadside to ensure that these trees do not pose a danger to road users.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said this was important as it could cause various problems including taking the lives of road users.
"It is the landowners’ responsibility to ensure that the trees they plant do not pose a problem to road users.
"I also advise those who are not able to cut down the big trees they plant, especially by the roadside, to inform us (local authorities) so that appropriate action can be taken," he told reporters after the launching of the state-level 2020 National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang campaign, here, today.
On another development, Aminuddin also urged livestock owners to ensure that their animals are always well-monitored and not allow their livestock to cause obstruction to traffic and accidents.
"These include cattle and buffaloes. It is their responsibility to ensure that their livestock are properly cared for and do not cause traffic disruptions that can result in accidents.
"I hope this matter is not taken lightly as the state government could use its power to act against farmers who continue to let their livestock roam the streets and parks to the extent of causing a menace,” he said.
