TTI hopes to attract 350,000 visitors in 6 months

KUALA TERENGGANU, July 13 – The Islamic Civilisation Park (TTI) is confident it can attract 350,000 visitors in six months through special promotions.

“During the recovery movement control order (RMCO), we’re offering the ‘2 in 1 package’ for entry to the Monument Park and a boat cruise on Sungai Terengganu for just RM29 versus the original price of RM39. While a child’s ticket is just RM25 rather than the regular price of RM27,” said Taman Tamadun Islam (TTI) Management Sdn Bhd general manager, Fazrul Isham Mohd.

TTI reopened to visitors on June 17 and since the promotion began “we recorded 1,211 tourists at Monument Park and 1,424 for the boat cruise”, he told Bernama today, while adding that the promotion ends at the same time as the RMCO on Aug 31.

Built in 2005, the Monument Park contains 23 scaled-down monuments from around the globe representing Islamic civilisation like Alhambra in Spain and the Great Mosque of Kairouan in Tunisia.

The TTI River Cruise, on the other hand, will delight with a view of the first drawbridge in Southeast Asia, spanning the width of Sungai Terengganu.

There’s also the B’Beteng restaurant offering interesting choices (and a 20 per cent discount to frontliners), the Crystal Mosque to take in and for events, the TTI Convention Centre.

“As an iconic tourist location, we’re also offering villa stays, a candlelight dinner package, a Day of Arafat package for breaking fast on July 30 and a night cruise for the Hari Raya Aidiladha holiday from July 30 - Aug 2.

“There’s also a package for squid jigging because many tourists to Terengganu would love to have this unique experience,” said Fazrul.
