KUALA TERENGGANU, July 13 -- The Petronas Foundation has contributed 4,900 litres of sanitising liquid and 95 liquid dispensing machines to selected schools in the state since early this month, in preparation for the reopening of schooling sessions.
Petronas East Coast general manager Che Ahmad Tarmizi A Rahman said the contribution to 19 primary and secondary schools in Kemaman, Kuala Nerus and Dungun was part of the company’s efforts to empower the local communities in its areas of operation.
"Petronas is committed to efforts carried out by the Ministry of Health towards containing the spread of COVID-19. As such, Petronas supports good hygiene practices among students, teachers and school staff as well as members of the public," he said in a statement here, today.
The hand sanitiser and the liquid dispensing machines were also part of the foundation's total contribution worth RM20 million, which included medical equipment and necessities to help hospitals and the frontliners in curbing the COVID-19 pandemic, he added.
