JOHOR BAHRU, June 30 -- A special committee has been set up to review the syllabus for Taska Genius Perpaduan under the National Unity Ministry, said its minister Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique.
She said the committee, headed by the deputy minister, would look into matters related to infrastructure, nutrition and educational games.
The review was necessary as the existing module had been in use for more than 11 years, she added.
“There might be new approaches that can be implemented. For example, games and more sophisticated and quality learning aids so that the children will not get bored and are always excited to go to school,” she told reporters after visiting a Genius Perpaduan child care centre in Taman Universiti here today.
She added that among the possible improvements were installing air-conditioners and better lighting in the premises to provide a more conducive learning environment for the children.
Halimah said there are 41 Taska Genius Perpaduan nationwide, with 947 registered children.
