GEORGE TOWN, June 22 -- The state government through the Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC) will be organising a career enhancement programme for young workers in the state.
State Youth and Sports Committee chairman Soon Lip Chee the programme was aimed at improving technical and soft skills of young workers to help them meet the demands of the job market and industry.
“The programme will be implemented through workshops which will conducted by industry players from various sectors,” he told a press conference here today.
Soon said the organising of such programme by employers was also seen as being able to help young workers utilise their full potential and explore opportunities in their field of work.
“The programme will be conducted beginning this month and in July through a series of workshops including the Understanding Employers’ Needs workshop, Resume Preparation workshop and Youth Empowerment through Digital Economy (online) workshop.
“The workshops will be held on June 27, July 18 and July 25 at the PYDC office near George Town from 9 am to 5 pm,” he added.
