KUALA LUMPUR, May 21 -- Persatuan Pemuisi Nasional Malaysia (Pemuisi) has earned the recognition of the Malaysia Book Of Records (MBOR) in the “Most Number Of Online Poem Reading Videos Posted In An Event” category in conjunction with the 2020 World Ramadan Poetry Reading Programme on April 30.
Pemuisi president Datuk Dr Radzuan Ibrahim, who received the MBOR letter dated May 18 2020 and signed by its chief operating officer Christopher HW Wong yesterday, said today that the programme was streamed live for 24 hours via Facebook, Instagram and YouTube and received tremendous support.
“A total of 595 poetry reading videos were uploaded by local and international poets in their respective languages using the hashtag set by Pemuisi,” he said in a statement today.
The online video programme managed to attract participation from 12 countries -- Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Australia, Gambia, South Korea, India, Bangladesh, Jordan, Spain and Holland.
Radzuan said the programme was the fourth organised by Pemuisi since the Movement Control Order (MCO) was enforced on March 18.
