KUALA LUMPUR, March 24 -- Foodpanda will provide RM1,000 to delivery riders who have tested positive for COVID-19, and RM300 for those under quarantine.
In a statement today, the food delivery service company said this support was part of financial assistance measures rolled out by the company.
Furthermore, Foodpanda has rolled out a communications and information sharing strategy for riders to stay informed during the current COVID-19 situation in the country.
“In line with this, Foodpanda has a dedicated telegram chat to keep delivery partners up-to-date in real time, on any new developments and to encourage information sharing.
“Delivery operations are being monitored and adjustments will be made in line with any recommendations provided by the Ministry of Health,” it said, adding that Foodpanda was committed to the well-being of its delivery partners.
The statement also said that Foodpanda had distributed more than 10,000 pieces of masks, as well as gloves and hand sanitisers to riders for their health and safety.
