JOHOR BAHRU, March 23 -- The Johor Health Department (Johor JKN) today denied the involvement of the Sultanah Nora Ismail (HSNI) Hospital, Batu Pahat in a public donation drive as claimed by a viral message on social media.
Its director Dr Aman Rabu said it was against regulations for hospitals to ask for donation via social media such as Facebook, Twitter and other online platforms.
Johor JKN appreciates the concern of Malaysians to all hospital staff, however, any contribution they would like to make must go through proper procedures and receive approval from the hospital’s management, it said in a statement.
Dr Aman also said any enquiries on contribution to HSNI can be directed to the hospital’s deputy director Dr J. Jayakumaran and Public Relations officer Mohamad Redzuan Said at 07-436 3000.
Earlier today, a message went viral via WhatsApp and Facebook asking for donations to prepare food for the frontliners handling the COVID-19 outbreak, starting with those at HSNI.
