Four ferry terminals in Johor halt operations following MCO

JOHOR BAHRU, March 23 -- Four ferry terminals in Johor have temporarily suspended operations for 10 days beginning last Saturday following the enforcement of the Movement Contol Order (MCO).

Southern Region Marine Department in a statement today said the terminals are the Muar ferry terminal, the Minyak Beku ferry terminal in Batu Pahat, as well as the Tanjung Pengelih and Tanjung Belungkor ferry terminals in Kota Tinggi.

“Indonesians who wish to return to Kota Dumai and Bengkalis can travel via the Kukup International Ferry Terminal in Pontian or the Puteri Harbour Ferry terminal near here.

“Anyone with enquiries regarding the terminal as well as ferry operations can contact the Kukup International Ferry Terminal at 07-696 9098 and 07-696 0760 or the Puteri Harbour Ferry terminal at 07-560 0542 and 07-5600 567,” the statement said.

The department said operations at two international ferry terminals in the state namely in Stulang and Pasir Gudang would continue as usual.

There are nine ferry terminals in Johor, including one terminal, which caters for domestic ferry services.
