KUALA LUMPUR, March 11 -- An e-commerce platform Shopee has provided 5,000 pieces of KF94 face masks to be sold to the public from today, in an effort to address the spread of COVID-19 infection.
Shopee regional managing director Ian Ho said priced at RM5.90 per unit, the face mask is available via S-Mart platform.
"Shopee is working closely with the authorities, manufacturers and distributors to manage the supply of the face masks and hand sanitisers for consumer," he said in a statement.
Ho said the company would also sell 250,000 units of three-ply face masks and 10,000 units of hand sanitisers beginning next week.
"A packet of five pieces three-ply face masks will be sold at RM3.90," he said.
Ho said to ensure the supply was sufficient to all interested buyers, Shopee had limited the purchase of each customer to a unit of KF94 and one set of the three-ply face masks.
