SHAH ALAM, March 5 -- The Selangor State Religious Department (JAIS) has instructed all mosques and surau in the state to include Qunut Nazilah (supplication offered in times of calamity) in Subuh prayer, beseeching Allah for his mercy and protection from COVID-19 infection.
Its director Mohd Shahzihan Ahmad in a statement today said the instruction was issued following the rampant spread of COVID-19 infection in the country.
"All mosque and surau committee members in the state, must take heed of the preventive measures as advised by the Health Ministry.
"As Muslims, we must always pray to Allah to protect the country against the virus. The recitation of Qunut Nazilah in Subuh prayer will continue until the COVID-19 outbreak is contained," he said.
