Mosques urged to hold "solat Hajat" for country's stability, peace, harmony

PUTRAJAYA,  Feb 27 -- Key mosques that are under the administration of the Islamic Development Department, Malaysia (Jakim) will hold the “solat hajat” (prayer of need) to seek help from Allah to keep the political situation in the country stable and maintain the peace and harmony among the people of various religions and races.

Jakim director-general Datuk Paimuzi Yahya, in a statement today, said  the prayer will be held at the National Mosque in Kuala Lumpur, Putra Mosque and the Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque here today.

Other mosques, including in the states, are also urged to hold similar prayer from time to time, he added.
