SAR Continues For Boy Who Fell Into Drain In Taman Prima Saujana

KAJANG, Dec 5 (Bernama) -- The search and rescue (SAR) operation for another teenage boy who was feared to have drowned after falling into a drain and swept by the current while attempting to retrieve a ball in Taman Prima Saujana yesterday continued this morning.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assistant director (Operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, in a statement today, said the operation resumed at 8 am, with the search area entering Sungai Langat.

Meanwhile, a Bernama survey at the location found the SAR team, consisting of members of the Fire and Rescue Department and the Civil Defence Force, actively searching for the 14-year-old victim.

Yesterday, it was reported that two brothers, aged 12 and 14, were feared to have drowned after falling into a drain while trying to retrieve a ball in Lorong 1/3A, Taman Prima Saujana here.

The younger boy was found in Sungai Merbau in Kampung Sungai Kantan, at 7.47 pm yesterday, about two kilometres from where the victims were reported to have fallen, but died at the Kajang Hospital.
