Three Indonesians Killed, Three Seriously Injured In Lahad Datu Crash

LAHAD DATU, Oct 9 (Bernama) -- Three Indonesian nationals were killed while three others were seriously injured when their car skidded and overturned at Batu 18, Jalan Sandau here this afternoon.  

Lahad Datu Fire and Rescue Station chief Sumsoa Rashid said the victims who died comprised two women and a man aged, between 36 and 41, who were pronounced dead at the scene.  

“The Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 3.05 pm via the MERS999 hotline, and eight firefighters from the Lahad Datu Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene, located about 31 kilometres from the town centre.  

“The rescue team used special equipment to extricate all trapped victims. Two women and a man, all Indonesian nationals aged between 40 and 46, sustained serious injuries and were taken to Lahad Datu Hospital for further treatment,” he said in a statement today.  

He added that the bodies of the deceased were handed over to the police for further action.
