SEPANG, Sept 30 (Bernama) -- A Cambodian man pleaded guilty in the Sessions Court here to two charges of using criminal force and abusive words against two airline staff.

Lin Weida, 41, a travel agent, made the plea before Judge Ahmad Fuad Othman after both charges were read out in Mandarin by an interpreter.

However, the court fixed sentencing for tomorrow as the case falls under the jurisdiction of the Magistrates’ Court.

According to the first charge, Lin was accused of using criminal force against Batik Air security officer Sheikh Muhammad Syafiq Sh Khalid at the Satellite Building of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at 7.50 pm on Sept 28.

The charge, under Section 352 of the Penal Code, carries a maximum sentence of three months’ jail, a fine of RM1,000, or both, upon conviction.

For the second charge, on the same day at about 5.20 pm on board flight OD606 from Hong Kong to KLIA Terminal 1, the man was alleged to have used abusive words against Batik Air cabin crew member Yuszai Yusof.

The charge, framed under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955, carries a maximum fine of RM100.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Norfarhanim Abdul Halim prosecuted while Lin was unrepresented.
